Overview
Ten-year-old Lily is branded a liar by her mother, who trusts a lie-detection bracelet. It flashes red for every truth—hunger, pain, innocence—so Lily is punished and locked away, while her twin Ruby’s fake green bracelet earns endless love. On New Year’s Eve, Lily dies from a ruptured appendix, begging for help. Only after her death does her mother learn the bracelet detects fear and pain, not lies—and that her cruelty was built on a lie. Guilt destroys the family, while Lily’s spirit finally finds peace.
